In this role, you will assess the client’s questions and, in collaboration with them, determine the necessary analytical techniques. You will work closely with specialists, including analysts and scientific contributors, to conduct analyses and draw meaningful conclusions from the results.

Responsibilities Project Manager (Specialty Analysis)

In the business unit Analytical Solutions they offer the customers consultancy services which are strongly supported by specialized lab work. One focus area in this unit is Specialty analysis and Emergency Response Services.

Specialty analysis offers a unique service to identify unknown materials such as particles and impurities in food, feed, pharmaceutical products and others using of variety of analytical techniques. The service includes SEM, IR, GC, LC and ICP techniques. Based on the clients questions and in agreement with the client you decide which analytical techniques are required. You work closely together with the specialists (analysts and scientific contributors) to obtain the analysis and draw conclusions from the results. These results are of high value to our clients in root cause analysis. Toxicological and regulatory evaluation based on the results are also part of the offering. The regular specialty analysis are often part of the Triskelion 24/7 emergency response service. You would become one of the responsible project managers for responding to this service.

To strengthen the Emergency Response Service, we are looking for an enthusiastic expert in the field of assessing the safety of food, feed and pharmaceutical materials based on the results of the investigation conducted.

Your responsibilities:

  • Translating customer questions into a suitable analysis plan, by applying your knowledge of chemical analysis.
  • Pro-actively supervising analytical chemical laboratory work
  • Drawing conclusions from the analytical results on type and identity of the analyte
  • Reporting the results in a suitable manner to the clients
  • Communicating effectively and strategically with customers about the content and progress of projects.
  • Managing analysts and collaborating with analytical scientists, as in many projects method development using the latest analysis techniques is crucial for the success. 

Requirements Project Manager (Specialty Analysis)

  • Academic working and thinking level, for example in food science and analytical/microbiological science, with at least 10 years of work experience in analytical/ microbiological science;
  • Good written and oral expression skills in the Dutch and English language.
  • Extensive knowledge of and experience with analytical chemical techniques.
  • Ability to view problems with a so-called helicopter view.
  • You are accurate, take initiative and have a problem-solving attitude.
  • Positive, energetic attitude and able to inspire teammates as well as work independently.

Besides the above requirements, you are already living in the Netherlands. Maximum 40 km around Utrecht, or willing to move closer to Utrecht.

Occasionally, this role will require you to be "on-call" and work alternative hours in case of emergency, so please only apply if you are able to be flexible at times. These alternative hours will be compensated accordingly. 

The offer Project Manager (Specialty Analysis)

  • A good base salary and flexible secondary employment conditions including a good pension, 33 days holiday, 13th month and 8% holiday allowance.
  • This is a full-time position (40 hours, 32 hours can be discussed) with the prospect of a permanent contract.
