Job Description - Director of Data

Data is one of the most valuable assets a business can harness, yet it presents unique challenges in valuation, ownership, and quality assurance. As Director of Data, you will take charge of the data strategy, cultivating a robust, scalable data platform and uniting data efforts across the organization. This role demands a visionary capable of transforming decentralized data operations into a cohesive, agile, and compliant ecosystem.

You will empower a thriving data community across all data-related functions, including Data Management, Platform and Analytics. Key responsibilities will involve directing change initiatives, developing data strategies, and implementing best practices to maximize data’s value and impact.

The Director of Data reports to C-level with the mandate to create a transformative data culture. This role will work closely with product teams, business analytics groups, and compliance. The role requires a balance of strategic vision, technical expertise, and hands-on leadership to enhance data capabilities organization-wide.

Job Requirements - Director of Data

The ideal candidate will have an academic background and at least 10 years of management experience in a similar position. You are a thought leader in the data field and have a strong grasp of data-driven strategy challenges. The role requires up-to-date knowledge of data legislation and regulations, proven change management experience, and the ability to break down data silos while maintaining collaborative relationships. Strong stakeholder management, architectural insight, and technological knowledge are essential.
