Are you an experienced freelance Tax Manager ready to make an impact in a dynamic international FMCG company? We’re seeking a senior professional to enhance our global tax team.

In this 6-month assignment (40 hours per week), you’ll take charge of VAT compliance, provide strategic advice to business functions, and collaborate with various stakeholders, including external local authorities. Your expertise will be crucial in navigating complex VAT challenges and ensuring seamless operations.

Responsibilities: Interim Indirect Tax Manager

In this role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Assume full responsibility for VAT compliance, including the preparation and submission of local and international VAT returns, EC purchase listings, and Intrastat declarations;
  • Reconcile VAT accounts with relevant reports and efficiently manage outstanding items;
  • Supervise assistance from centralized service teams to ensure smooth VAT compliance processes;
  • Work closely with the Indirect Tax team on various VAT and Customs-related projects and initiatives;
  • Contribute to providing necessary tax data for VAT audits while managing interactions with both domestic and international tax authorities;
  • Offer guidance, training, and support to internal teams regarding VAT procedures and regulatory updates;
  • Assist in the development and optimization of new VAT processes within enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems;
  • Oversee the implementation of a new VAT tool in EUR, collaborating with the IT department to ensure successful system transition.

Requirements: Interim Indirect Tax Manager

In order to succeed in this role, we ask that you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in a senior-level indirect tax role (specifically working with Dutch and EU laws);
  • Educational background (HBO+) in Accounting and/or Taxation;
  • Experience with VAT Automation and VAT Compliance; 
  • Experience working with SAP would be considered a plus;
  • Ability to work independently while also serving as a coach/mentor to other colleagues on the team;
  • Fluent in English required, Dutch would be a plus. 

 

Offer: Interim Senior VAT Specialist

This assignment is temporary for 6 months and will start immediately. We can offer an hourly rate between €150 and € 160 per hr all in excluding VAT, depending on the knowledge and experience you bring with you.
