Job description - Solution Architect

The role involves designing a long-term solution architecture for the e-commerce landscape, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and organizational needs over the next 2 to 4 years. The individual will be responsible for making strategic decisions on whether to buy or build systems, balancing trade-offs related to requirements, quality, stability, cost, and speed of implementation.

Key responsibilities include owning the entire e-commerce ecosystem, including areas such as pricing, business intelligence, product content, webshops, and customer service, while ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and performant. The role requires close collaboration with development teams to implement best practices and enterprise architectural principles. The individual will also drive technical and functional discussions, guiding both business stakeholders and developers to meet long-term objectives. Additionally, they will define system integration architectures, work with partner system integrators, and ensure adherence to compliance standards. 

To summrize your responsibilites are:

  • Lead the design and development of a scalable, secure, and high-performance e-commerce platform;
  • Design the solution architecture for the next 2 to 4 years, aligning with strategic business goals;
  • Make strategic decisions on trade-offs, quality, stability, cost, and implementation speed;
  • Manage the entire e-commerce ecosystem, including pricing and business intelligence (BI), product content, channel integration, webshops (running on Salesforce Commerce Cloud), and customer service systems;
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure platforms are built following best practices and enterprise architectural principles.

Job requirements - Solution Architect

  • Over 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect;
  • More than 8 years of experience in developing e-commerce solutions and applications;
  • At least 5 years of experience with commercial e-commerce platforms such as Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC), Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce, etc;
  • Proven hands-on experience in implementing large, complex, multi-domain, and multisite e-commerce projects;
  • Strong communication skills with a high sense of ownership and responsibility;
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud infrastructure on popular platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
  • E-commerce tool certification (e.g., SFCC, Magento) is desirable;
  • Experience working in a start-up environment is a plus.

The offer - Solution Architect

A great full-time role in Utrecht/Venlo, hybrid work is possible. Willingness to travel abroad if needed. The salary for this position will range between 6000-8500 EUR per month, depending on your education and seniority (there's some flexibility so if your indication is higher, don't hesitate!). On top of that there are many secondary benefits such as pension scheme, 8% holiday allowance, personal laptop and phone, and more.
